- Notes:
- Dark red, micaceous clay; break shows fired darker within. Lamp made in mold of two perpendicular pieces rather than the usual horizontal. Front half decorated in relief. Nozzle is the rounding end of long narrow bowl set on base with claw feet indicated on front and back of front half of lamp. Acanthus leaf in relief on front side of nozzle and half of palmette decorates other end of bowl. Above this bowl is Eros in high relief riding on dolphin to right playing a lute. Behind him is pillar (?) whose top is broken off. May have had a ring for suspending lamp as base is too uneven for lamp to stand. Back half of lamp is plain except for two grooves about top of bowl and wick hole in top top of bowl. Blackened about wick hole.

Bottom has conical kick extending up into vessel. Short cylinder attached to kick on inside probably held wick. Ring base has short, rounded, flaring sides. Pontil mark. Vessel slightly asymmetrical.
