- A parade on a dirt road, sometime in the late 19th or early 20th century. In this photograph two white heavily decorated horses pull a decorated carriage with an unidentified driver and a female passenger with a parasol.

- Description:
- The Kent County Sheriff's Posse, seventeen mounted sheriffs, in the Lansing Centennial Parade of Transportation on East Michigan Avenue. Several troups of mounted police from around the state participated in the parade. Altman's Mens Store, the Esquire Theater, Murton Opticians, Jim's Cocktail Bar, Lansing Cafe, and Mattison's Jewelry are all visible in the background. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection.

- According to Hazel Proctor's book "Old Lansing Town" (p. 52), this photograph shows the first horse-drawn streetcars in Lansing. The intersection is Michigan and Washington avenues, looking toward the City National Bank.

- Luther Baker captured John Wilkes Booth with Buckskin, and rode this horse in various military events in the 1860s. This photograph was taken by Cheney and Christmas of Lansing, in front of the State Capitol.
