- Description:
- Caption on photo: "The Octagon House was the residence of Colonel Whitney Jones who was Auditor General in 1855-58. This photograph shows the moving of the building so that Arbaugh's store could be built on the site. It was used as a warehouse until 1929 when it was demolished and the site made into a parking lot." This is incorrect; the building was razed in 1935. Three copies. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection.
