- Color postcard Packard Motor Car Company, Detroit Mich. This vertical image shows an aerial view of the Packard factory. Verso: "Packard Motor Car Company Detroit, Mich, The Packard Motor Car Company is located on the East Grand Boulevard and the Belt Line Railway. The factory occupies forty acres of floor space including thirty separate buildings, and employs over 7,000 people. Daily output is ten complete pleasure cars and five two, three or five-ton commercial trucks. The power house is equipped to supply 8500 horse power, including two 3000 horse power Cooper engines." - Color postcard depicting carriages on a road on Belle Isle, with several people along the sides and steamships on the Detroit River in the background. Printed on verso: Along the Shore, Belle Isle, Detroit's principal recreation spot. The island is located in the Detroit river near lake St. Clair, and it connected with the city by a bridge 8 feet less than half a mile in length. It comprises 702 acres, is over two miles long and boasts over thirty miles of fine macadam roadway which completely circles and frequently intersects it. A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The City has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879.
