Clark 1114 W. 42 St., Los Angeles.” Prior to her 1920 marriage, Emelia Goldsworthy was head of the Art Department at Western State Normal School.

- Anna L. French in her office. She began her career at Western as a assistant librarian in 1907, and later became head librarian in 1939 until her retirement in 1946. The dormatory, French Hall, was dedicated in her honor in 1960.

- John C. Hoekje seated at his desk and writing in ledger. John C. Hoekje served Western Michigan University in many different capacities from 1916-1955. He began as an instructor of education and psychology at WMU in 1916, was the Director of Extension from 1917-47, became registrar in 1921, and Dean of Admission in 1945. During that time, he served on numerous committees at WMU. An avid supporter of athletics, Hoekje was the tennis coach in 1925 and 1926, and was chairman of the athletic board for many years. Hoekje Hall was named in his honor.

- Charles J. Scanlon, president of the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, giving the commencement address at the WMU graduation ceremony in June 1964. Scanlon also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Business Administration. In the background are the Oakland Gym and West Hall (later the Natural Science Building). Scanlon was fifth president of the Federal Reserve, serving from 1962 to 1970. In addition to his work at the Chicago Fed, Scanlon was an instructor of loans and credits at the Inter-Agency Bank Examination School in Washington, DC, and served as a consultant to the government of Liberia.
