- Invitation to the formal opening and dedication of City Hall on July 4, 1871. The invitation is printed on yellow paper with a check pattern watermark. It reads: Detroit, June, 1871 Dear Sir: You are respectfully invited to the City of Detroit, as the guest of its Citizens, on the Fourth of July. In addition to appropriate ceremonies in celebration of the day, the occasion as been selected for the Formal Opening and Dedication of our new City Hall. It is desirable to have your letter of acceptable as early as the 15th inst., in order that time may be afforded for sending you the necessary tickets. Respectfully, etc., Wm. W. Wheaton, Mayor, C.C. - Envelope and invitation to the Eleventh Annual Commencement of the Detroit Medical College. The envelope is addressed to Charles L. Argus, Esquire, and has an embossed border around its flap. The invite is quarter folded. The cover of the invite is printed with a design composed of the entwined letters D,M, and C. along with the passage: Detroit, March 2, 1879 The Faculty of the Detroit Medical College respectfully invite yourself and family to attend their Eleventh Annual Commencement Exercises, to be held at the Opera House (Campus Martius), on the Evening of Tuesday, March 4th, at 8 o'clock precisely. (Over) The Order of Exercises is printed within, including orchestral music, a prayer, the ceremony, an address, and a poem. Both the invitation and envelope bear the imprint of E.B. Smith and Company, Printers.

- Mounted invitation to James W. Witherell to a Ball by the Officers at the Post of Detroit on the evening of the 11th inst. A printed list of names follow, "R. A. Zantzinger, C. Mellon, H. Stanton, J. Farley." The invitation is dated March 4th, 1823. On the right side there are two wax seals and and a handwritten note which reads, "Invitation to attend a Ball at the Center next Tuesday 11th March 1823, shall not attend, to be ofenced[?] 1824, March 4th."

- Invitation cards and envelope for the wedding of Frances A. McGraw to J. Gardner Pruden, on Wednesday January 26, 1876, sent by the bride's parents, "Mr. and Mrs. V.W. McGraw" to "Mrs. Dickinson and family." The set contains a half-folded card, a pair of cards fastened with white cord with Frances A. McGraw's name on one and J. Gardner Pruden on the other, and a card with a paneled border and a monogram of the letters P.McG. A note from the donor is handwritten on the envelope, "Moses Field Dickinson, my grandfather, M. Wesson Dickinson."
