- Also known as the Kingsley Bridge, the Martin's Creek Viaduct was built from 1912 to 1914 by the F. M. Talbot Co. for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. It is similar in appearance to the Tunkhannock Viaduct which was also built for the D.L. &W. R.R.

- Due to the increasing weight and train traffic the Michigan Central RR Bridge was built to replace the Michigan Central Cantilever Bridge. Its construction was delayed by WWI, but it was completed in 1925 by Michigan Central's engineer H. Isben and still exists today. - Designed by Benjamin Baker in the late 1880s the Forth Bridge was built as a cantilever railway bridge to cross the Firth of Forth in Scotland. One of the earliest cantilever bridges, it had the world's longest span at the time it was built.

- Completed in 1916, the Hell Gate Bridge crosses the East River at Hell Gate. It was designed as a four-track railway bridge by Gustav Lindenthal for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Lindenthal served as consulting engineer for the bridge's construction, which began in 1914, with the help of Othmar Ammann as assistant chief engineer. Little Hell Gate was built to cross the water between Wards and Randalls Island.
