- Joel Stillerman, professor of Sociology at Grand Valley State University, delivers a talk entitled "Red Metal, White Heat: Five Decades of Metalworkers' Struggles in Chile". Stillerman talks about the roll of space and geography in influencing the outcome of strikes in Chile from the 1940s to the 1990s. He answers questons from the audience. Stillerman is introduced by John Beck, Michigan State University professor of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
