The invoice is printed on letterhead including lithographs of Frederick Stearns and Company's Detroit laboratory and a coat of arms with a shield divided party per chevron and charged with three crosses, and a bird as a crest. The letterhead lists Frederick K. Stearns as the president, Frank C. McLaughlin as the vice president and treasurer, and Thomas Bennett as the secretary. "Bill F. Stearns & Co., tar cherry 2 gallons, $4.50," is handwritten on the verso.
