- Two ancient American elm trees growing in the middle of Bostwick Avenue N.E., just north of Lyon Street, Grand Rapids. The trees had survived various attempts at cutting them down until 1950 when they were deemed a traffic hazard and a menace to the homes on the west side of the avenue.
