Booklet containing the 26h annual report made to the board of directors of the Detroit Young Men's Society by its president and chairman of committee, James E. Pittman on April 12, 1859. Discussed within are plans to build a new hall, repairs to the current hall, finances, lectures hosted by the organization, cooperation with the State Historical Society, changes in the group's by-laws, and the growth of the group's library. Also included are a list of present officers and committee members as well as past presidents. The booklet is bound in a green paper cover with a floral border, and a "Rutgers University, Dec. 11 1935, Library," stamp on the cover. It was printed by Barns, French, and Way.
