Western Knitting Mills

Description:
A crowd in front of the Western Knitting Mills, now the Rochester Mills Beer Company, located on Water Street. Although many mills have stood at this location, the building we see today was built in 1891. Originally known as the Western Knitting Mill, the building was used for many things, including making khaki gloves during World War I and refrigeration tubes during the 1940s.
