Silk Velvet Evening Gown with Rhinestone Clasp, 1933

Description:
Gray-beige silk velvet evening gown accented on the small of the back with pleated, fan-shaped velvet. Details include a rhinestone clasp on the back and trim of silver braid. The sleeves are slit and weighted, which was popular in 1933. This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).
