Ypsilanti Young Women
- Notes:
- Studio Photo (circa early 1890s) of nine young women in Ypsilanti. They are, on front row, Mattie Scotney (1863-98) who was the daughter of James and Maria Scotney and who married later Fred E. Lamphere before her premature death; Alice Wright, daughter of John and Ellen Wright; Emma Punches, a domestic listed at 36 North Adams Street in 1888 city directory; and Mary Wright (no records). In the rear are Etta Beach, daughter of William and Louisa Hinchey Beach who later married Charles H. Dale; Nellie Wiard (no records); Ella Covert (1856-1941), married to Benjamin S. Covert in 1886; Susie Hopkins ( no records); Emma Fisk (no records); and Hattie Beach (1864-1896), daughter of William and Louisa Beach and sister of Etta, who married Charles Scotney in 1896, only month before her demise. The use of Ella's married name and Hattie's maiden name place the photo within the intervening decade of 1886 and 1896.
