Wool Day Dress with Beaded Belt Buckle and Cuffs, 1940

Description:: Dark brown wool day dress with gored skirt. Accents include inverted pleats off shoulders and a high round neck. Very tailored dress wiht jeweled cuffs and belt buckler in gold, green, red, blue and gray pearls. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.
