River Rouge Bascule Bridge; Superstructure; Looking South, Bridge Partly Open; May 29, 1920. Photo W. B. James, Br. Insp." The view looks southwestward along the existing railroad tracks and shows the bridge in a partially open position. The massive concrete counterweights can be seen on the trusses in the foreground on each side of the tracks. Several workmen are working on the railroad tracks. The 2-story brick building for the bridge operator can be seen at the far right side of the photo.
