Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired)

Notes:

Pale buff clay, unglazed. Rounded nozzle, Single volutes at nozzle end, incised decoration on neck. Stamped ovule pattern on broad rim. Two circular grooves between rim and plain concave discus with central filling hole. End opposite nozzle is straight and top is broken off. May have had virtical handle at right angles to axis of lamp. Flat base set off by groove which follows general outline of lamp. Nozzle end slightly blackened. Broken about wick hole.
