Description:: Mug shot of Clarence "Sandman" Smith, one of the four members of the Vagos biker club, convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of William Velden. Later when another man, Kerry Rodney Lee confessed to the crime, the men (also Richard "Doc" Greer, Thomas Gladish and Ron Keine) were released from prison and granted a new trial, Lee was convicted in 1978 and the original four were never retried.
