Hooks, axes, fire extinguishers, and plenty of hose are visible among the crowd. A sign suspended above reads, "Parke, Davis & Co." Photo is mounted on a green cardstock matting. Handwriting on verso reads, "1895-1900, Standing L-R 1st row Dr. John M. Francis; Leon Fink, Fire Chief." "WM. H. Hart, Photographer, 361 Meldrum Avenue, Detroit, Mich." also printed on verso.
