- One blueprint drawing entitled "Plans for Engineer Dock at Fort Wayne." The drawing shows the layout of the dock area along with dimensions and water depths. The locations of four survey vessels are also indicated along with their names: Lorain L., U.S.S. Gen. Williams, U.S.S. Search, and U.S. Lake Survey No. 1. On the right side of the plan sheet, a cross-section detail of the dock sheet piling and anchorage configuration is shown. The title block in the upper left corner indicates that the drawing was prepared "under the direction of Major W. L. Fisk, Corps of Engineers, and E. E. Haskell, Chief Asst. Engineer" at a scale of 1 inch = 20 feet. The plan is dated August, 1902.

- One drawing entitled "Elevations and Sections of Details of Wrought Iron Picket Fence, Gates, and Gate Posts at Fort Wayne, Mich." The drawing consists of black ink on linen and shows various details of the double gate and posts at the main entrance to the fort. The details are shown at scales of 3/4 inch = 1 foot and 1 1/2 inches = 1 foot as noted on the plan sheet. Handwritten text beneath the title shows "George Ruhlen, Capt. and A.Q.M. [Assistant Quarter Master], U.S. Army," and is dated March 25, 1895.

The drawing consists of black and red ink on linen and shows plan and cross-section views of one of the casemates along the fort walls. The views have been drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 8 feet. Elevation contour lines and dimensions are included with the drawing details. Handwritten text in the lower right corner shows "Engineer Department, June 8, 1863. Sent to Major Blunt with letters of this date."

- Description:
- One "Map of U.S. Lake Survey Basin at Fort Wayne." The map consists of black ink on linen and shows the dock and frontage along the Detroit River that were occupied by the U. S. Lake Survey Office at Fort Wayne. A seawall is also shown at the upstream side of the basin. Water depths are indicated in the vicinity of the basin to the nearest tenth of a foot and are referenced "to a plane 5 feet below the capping." The names, "Wm. J. Marshall," and "Drouillard's Boathouse" are shown on the adjacent "Crane Estate" property that is located immediately northeast of the fort property. The title block on the left side of the sheet indicates that the map was "Made under the direction of Major W. L. Fisk, Corps of Engineers, and E. E. Haskell, Chief Asst., Engineer," and is dated June, 1903. A note in the lower right corner shows that the map was drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 20 feet.

- One inventory list of the guns at Fort Wayne. The list is shown in a tabular format that consists of printed black text on white paper including blank rows and columns that were to be completed by the officer in charge. Several rows and columns have gun quantities shown in the lower portion of the table. The inventory list has handwritten text in the lower right corner that shows "Respectfully submitted to the Chief of Engineers, U. S. Army, with letter dated April 29, 1892. O. M. Poe, Col., Corps of Engineers, Bvt. Brig. Gen., U.S.A." A blue ink stamp on the verso shows "No. 39, U. S. Engineer Office, Detroit, Mich., Received Jan. 22, 1892."

The configuration of the gun platform area is shown as well as contour lines which indicate the elevation and grading for the ground slopes in the vicinity of the gun platforms. Handwritten text beneath the title shows "Engineer Department, Washington, July 21, 1866, Sent to Col. Cram at Detroit with letter of this date. Rich'd Delafield, Bvt. Maj. - One drawing entitled "Sketch of Fort Wayne Showing the Condition of its Non-Armament, June 30th, 1869, in Response to Circular from Office of the Chief of Engineer, May 25th, 1869." The drawing consists of black ink on heavy tan paper and shows a plan view of the outer walls of the fort. Artillery placement locations are numbered throughout the fort along with short notes concerning the type of construction and existing conditions. A long north arrow line ("true meridian") cuts diagonally across the fort sketch. Two handwritten notes near the upper left corner of the drawing are transcribed as follows: "1. Note. Not a gun is mounted, nor is there a gun carriage at the fort. 2. Note. The circular 'uses high or low traverse stones' - 'High and low' as here used, are somewhat indefinite for 'exact' comprehension. I have therefore given the difference of level between the upper surface of the iron circle on the pintle block and the iron circle on the traverse stones. Now if this does not give the information desired as to the whether traverse stones are high or low, then I respectfully request a response to the cross sections of all the platforms, which must be in the Engineer Department Office, where the 'references' will show whether the traverse stones be high or low when compared with the crest line or terre/plain, and the word, high or low, can then be put in the blanks for which it will be seen I have left room there 'Traverse stones ----- :' U. S. Engr. Office, Detroit, 15th July 1869, T. J. Cram, Col. Engrs., Bvt. Maj. Gen'l."
