- Color postcard depicting a view of ships along the riverfront, with the Detroit River in the foreground and the downtown skyline in the background. Steamer GREYHOUND travels down the river flying seven flags. Printed on verso: The Harbor. Virtually all the commerce of the Great Lakes, except that between Lake Superior and Michigan, passes through the Detroit River. Immense freighters bearing their loads of ore, grain, coal, lumber and general merchandise are constantly in sight and this, added to the passenger steamers and ferry boats, makes the river front one of the most interesting points of the city.
