The Detroit Boat Club is one of the most exclusive social and athletic organizations in Detroit. Its handsome home on Belle Isle near the bridge was erected in 1902 to replace one destroyed by fire. The building is one of the finest of its kind in the world. Its members enjoy unusual facilities for their favorite sport of rowing, which they combine with sailing and canoeing. Their balls feature the summer in Detroit society. In front of the bridge entrance to the club is one of the finest flower beds on the Island. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Mar 26, 1917.

- Color postcard depicting ten firemen aboard an automobile, with buildings in the background. Printed on verso: The Detroit Fire Department is being rapidly fitted out with automobile fire fighters. This view shows one of the departments responding to an alarm and going through the street at a rate of 75 miles an hour in one of their 30 H.P. Packard Motors Cars. This machine, known as the 30 squad wagon and carrying 12 men, is equipped with hand extinguishers and can easily take care of incipient fires. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked May 1912.

- Color postcard depicting a floral design in Grand Circus Park arranged to read "In Detroit Live is Worth Living", with buildings in the background and people seated on benches. Printed on verso: In Detroit Life Is Worth Living. - This Floral display is located in East Grand Circus Park, the oldest of Detroit's breathing grounds, and is situated in the center of the City's retail district. Magnificent shade trees are everywhere, real monarchs of forest that started to grow even before a white man set his foot on what is now the State of Michigan. The park was set aside in 1854 under the general redistricting of the City. In the foreground Detroit's slogan is brought out very prominently in beautifully colored foliage.
