British soldiers gathered on the waterfront can be seen getting into formation.; Part of a series of imagined views of North American cities titled 'Collection des Prospects' by Franz Xaver Habermann (1721-1796) and Balthasar Friedrich Leizelt (1755-1812) that were issued in Augsburg, Germany around the time of the American Revolution.; This is a fictitious representation of New York that likely borrowed features from several unidentified views of major European cities.; "Debarquement des Troupes engloises a nouvelle Yorck." appears written in reverse along the upper margin.
