- This photo, taken sometime late June or early July of 1953, shows the church building of Willow Run Evangelical Lutheran Church being moved(by the C.P. Myers Movers) from its original location at 2583 East Michigan Avenue where it had been since its construction in 1943 (note the man in the bell tower). The church had been organized by the Missouri Synod to meet the need of the growing population brought to the area by the Willow Run Bomber Plant. The building's first dedication service was there on July 18, 1943. After the end of the war and the ensuing population decrease, the congregation decided to relocate to a more populated area at the current location of 1255 East Forest Avenue. The first service at that location was on July 19, 1953, almost exactly a decade after the first. The building was later renovated with brick facing and a new steeple and is now the back portion of an enlarged building. In October of 1953, the church voted to change its name to Faith Lutheran Church.
