- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. The pages are to do with Lansing, and include a page each on: "Lansing's Guardians of the Peace" (the Lansing Police Department, with portraits of officers and Chief Alfred Seymour at center) Public officials (portraits of city department heads, aldermen, and other municipal leaders) "Varied Industrial Activity" (photographs of ten manufacturing facilities and city utility plants) "Lansing's Welfare Societies" and "The Lansing Life Underwriters Association" (portraits of people active in both of those areas) The Michigan State Digest was an independent newspaper published in Lansing from about 1926 to 1950.
