- Portrait of Olive Ewing Clapper, signed [and dated February 22, 1947]. Clapper was a writer and lecturer and was married to the well known reporter, Raymond Clapper. She was involved in the League of Women Voters, helped found the Mental Hygiene Society, and was the Vice President of the American Women's Voluntary Services during the war.

- Portrait of Bernard DeVoto, signed. DeVoto was renowned author and historian whose primary interest was the American West. His books include, "The Course of Empire", "The Year of Decision: 1846", and "Across the Wide Missouri". He also edited an edition of the journals of Lewis and Clark.

- Martin L. Sweet came to Grand Rapids in 1846 and soon after built a flour mill, the Grand Rapids City mills. In 1860 he became mayor of Grand Rapids. And in 1868 he sold his mill and built the Sweet's Hotel, which stood on the site of the Pantlind Hotel and now the Amway Grand at the northwest corner of Pearl and Monroe. He was also involved in banking and the lumber business.
