The letter is on Hotel Pontchartrain stationery, and is dated July 29, 1907. The letter reads: Mr. W.D. Purdy, 1159 Third Avenue, Detroit Dear Sir:- We have your letter of the 26th inst., making application for the position of assistant steward or storekeeper.
