In view are the Hotel Statler, David Whitney Building, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Alexander Macomb Monument, a fountain, and signs reading "Edison" and "Reliable". Printed on verso: Washington Boulevard extends from Michigan Avenue to Grand Circus Park. It was one of the principal residence streets, but on account of the rapid growth of Detroit, it is now being turned into a business thoroughfare. - Color postcard depicting the Detroit Boat Club from bridge to the shore. Printed on verso: Detroit Boat Club, Belle Isle, Detroit, Mich. Boat Club, Belle Isle. The Detroit Boat Club is one of the most exclusive social and athletic organizations in Detroit. Its handsome home on Belle Isle near the bridge was erected in 1902 to replace one destroyed by fire. The building is one of the finest of its kind in the world. Its members enjoy unusual facilities for their favorite sport of rowing, which they combine with sailing and canoeing. Their balls feature the summer in Detroit society. In front of the bridge entrance to the club is one of the finest flower beds on the Island. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Aug 31, 1916.
