- Philanthropist Selma Jacobs Hollander says she has had three lives in her 100 years, one as a Jewish princess, another as a Michigan State University faculty wife, and a third as the widow of MSU Professor Stanley Hollander. Hollander reminisces about her youth and her parent's influence on her life, her education, learning to sew from her mother, graduating from high school at 16, studying business at New York University and leaving to take a job at the United States post office. Hollander says that the post office job gave her the financial stability to buy a car and to take up golf. In fact, Hollander says that she met her husband Stanley on a golf course in the Poconos and that they were married in 1956 when she was 39 and that they took their honeymoon in Bermuda. The first of three oral history interviews with Selma Hollander.

- Nineteen year old Lansing Community College freshman Tyler Ford talks about living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia with his father who worked for an oil company and moving back to the U.S. to live in East Lansing, MI with his mother, and says that he regrets not taking full advantage of living abroad. He also discusses his parent's marriage and divorce and life at LCC saying he has remained focused in college despite the "freshman foolishness" around him. Ford sees extensive travel in his future and says that he doesn't believe that children will fit into that life style.

- Two small scrapbooks of mostly newspaper clippings, a mix of local news items, obituaries, news items related to World War I, and poetry or humorous writing from national sources. A few photographs and ephemeral items are also pasted in. One of the scrapbooks includes a short written family history of the Dryer family, beginning with Von Dryer, a Holland weaver who moved to London, his descendants immigrating to Boston in 1677, and eventually E. A. Dryer, the grandfather of Howe Dryer, moving to Michigan. Howe and Alice Dryer were listed in the city directories in the late 1910s and early 1920s as living at 1018 West Michigan Avenue in Lansing. Some of the clippings mention them living in Delta as well. The last dated item in the scrapbooks is a birthday telegram to Mrs. Dryer from "The Kids" dated 1930.

- A collection of scrapbooks from J.H. Moores. Contains a scrapbook of advertisements and newspaper clippings related to J.H. Moores various business ventures, including fruit and vegetable marketing, real estate, and lumber. Also contains newspaper clippings regarding the death of the Moores' daughter, Josephine Moores West in 1900. One scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, letters to J.H. Moores about a testimonial banquet at the Masonic Temple in 1910 by the Lansing Business Men's Association. Also includes newspaper clippings on L.H. Field, William McPherson Jr., and W.K. Prudden as well as Lansing State Savings Bank advertisements. J.H. Moores served as President of Lansing's Business Men's Organization in 1913.
