- Facing Fourth Street, the Avon School District #5 School House was built in 1899 and is also commonly known as the Old Rochester High School building or Harrison building. The bell tower was later removed and the building and its 1916 addition currently serves as the Rochester Community School Administration Building. - Artist rendering of the mill complex in Rochester, Michigan. Produced by Michigan Calendar Co., Detroit, Mich. The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie.
