Henry Neill at Firemen's Hall, followed by a ball at the Russell House as a benefit for the Ladies' Mount Vernon Association. Details on the events are printed in script on the front. A handwritten message, presumably addressed to Benjamin F. H. Witherell, president of the State Historical Society, is contained within: The Historical Society are respectfully invited to join the procession at 1 1/2 o'clock PM at the Russell House. W.B. Howe, Chairman of [?] "Washington's Birthday 1859," is handwritten on the verso so that it would appear on top when the invitation was folded into sixths.

- Invitation card to the Fifth Annual Fireman's Ball held by the Association of Ex-Members Detroit Steam Fire Department at Bamlet's Hall on Grand River Avenue and Rowland Street, on Monday, April 16, 1900, printed in red on white. The Metropolitan Band are listed as the entertainment. A brown and red illustration of a horse-drawn fire engine serves as the background. The ticket price is listed as $1. "No. 0" is printed in the lower right corner. It has been embossed with a seal consisting of a loop of fire hose encircling a ladder, and a crossed hook, ax, and bugles, beneath a fire helmet.

The booklet consists of a half-folded sheet bound between two separate pieces of cardstock with pink string. An illustration of a firefighter waving his arm in front of a burning building, surrounded by a border made of firefighting equipment is on the front. The program of dances to be performed as well as the list of floor manager are contained within. The program was printed by Hunter and Scheuren at 178 Brush Street.

The booklet consists of a half-folded sheet bound with blue string ending in a brown tassel into a half-folded cover--since torn at the crease--with a color illustration of a firefighter using a hose, while another firefighter runs holding an ax and a hook in the background on the front, and a fire hydrant on the back. The program of dances to be performed as well as the list of committee members are contained within. The program was printed by Watko and Dietz at 690 Gratiot Avenue.

- Mounted invitation to James W. Witherell to a Ball by the Officers at the Post of Detroit on the evening of the 11th inst. A printed list of names follow, "R. A. Zantzinger, C. Mellon, H. Stanton, J. Farley." The invitation is dated March 4th, 1823. On the right side there are two wax seals and and a handwritten note which reads, "Invitation to attend a Ball at the Center next Tuesday 11th March 1823, shall not attend, to be ofenced[?] 1824, March 4th."
