The handwriting on the back of the picture is barely legible but says "Weaving, Ralph [illegible] 321 Milwaukee." Based on this description, he appears to be working at a loom and potentially in a weaving course at Oxbow. Additionally, underneath the handwriting there is a stamp which reads: "Saugatuck-Douglas Chamber of Commerce, Saugatuck, Michigan." In the bottom left-hand side there is a stamp which reads: "Joe Armstrong, Allegen, Michigan."

He appears to be fishing in Lake Kalamazoo and another boat can be seen in the distance. The description on the back of the photograph reads "Fishing for walleye" and the second line is illegible. It appears to be a warm and sunny summer's day as they are all wearing hats and one of the men in the foreground has his shirt tied around his waist.
