- French prisoners sing a song outdoors in the prison compound in Zossen under the direction of a choir director. German NCO's and officers stand in the background next to the barrack. The choir leader has set up his stand on top of a narrow gauge railway line. Due to the size of the camp, the Germans used a small railway line system to transport supplies to the camp.

- British Gurkha prisoners exercise in marching step under the command of a non-commissioned officer. They are probably exercising in the prison compound at Zossen-Wuensdorf. Their barracks can be seen in the background of this photograph.

- French enlisted men,colonial troops, and a few French sailors, stand in front of the prison kitchen at the prison at Kaltenkirchen. Note the white bands on the upper arms of the prisoners which are probably worn for identification purposes.

- This is an interior view of the fortress from the courtyard at Wuerzburg. The round building to the left is the castle's chapel. POW quarters are located along the courtyard as well as various administrative buildings.

- French-speaking Belgian prisoners of war lived in this barrack at Goettingen. The Walloons' facilities were comfortable; they had access to desks and a large collection of books. Their walls are decorated with a number of pictures. Goettingen was a propaganda camp for Belgian POW's, who received special privileges during their incarceration.

- British prisoners of war exercise and get some fresh air on a street in Yozgad, near their quarters. The Turks incarcerated British POW's in houses in this city.

- This drawing depicts a snow-covered street in the prison camp in Muensingen. Some prisoners are outside enjoying the weather and smoke escapes from the chimneys from the ovens inside the barracks.

- An enterprising businessman at Ruhleben set up this engraving service in a booth and offered free designs to customers. Tradesmen often found their expertise in great demand in prison camps.

- British prisoners eat their lunch of soup at outdoor tables in the compound at Doeberitz. This photograph was taken early in the war as the British soldiers are wearing pre-war issue field hats, are eating outdoors, and live in the tents behind them. The prisoners had not yet constructed the wooden barracks which would be their homes for the rest of the war.
