Office areas are located at each end of the building. The drawing is shown at a scale of 1/8 inch = 1 foot. Handwritten text in the lower left corner shows "Frederick D. Griffith, Pvte., Co. Shows the east bastion of the star fort at Fort Wayne with a view to the northeast. Two officers are shown talking on the upper level of the fort with a troupe of soldiers marching below. The skylines of Detroit and Windsor can be seen in the distance. "Nov. 1, 61" is hand written in pencil on the bottom right corner.
