- Sepia-toned photograph of Hazen S. Pingree's headquarters at the Vincent House Palor in Saginaw, Michigan during his 1896 campaign for governor. A label is that reads, "Pingree Headquarters Vincent House Parlor and Room 14," is printed above the entrance to the building. Four rows of men dressed almost identically in boater hats and long coats stand in front of the building with many other men on the street and sidewalk behind them. A sign amongst the men in the background has a picture of Pingree with the words, "Detroit's Fearless Mayor." Men can also be seen in all of the windows of the building. An electric trolley in the bottom left corner, labeled B.P.M Depot and South Saginaw has sign hanging on it that read, "The Convention at J.R. Reitter [...]." "Photograph by A. Bower 4222 Franklin St. Saginaw, E. Side Michigan," is handwritten on the verso.

- Mounted photograph of Governor Charles M. Croswell posed with former governors Alpheus Felch, John J. Bagley, David H. Jerome, Henry P. Baldwin, and Austin Blair on the steps of the new Michigan State Capitol in Lansing on the day of its dedication, January 1, 1879. "The Governors and Ex-Governors of Michigan, Jan. 1st 1879, Mead & Jennings, Artists," has been printed along the bottom of the image, as though it were written on the ground. The names and dates of service have been handwritten on the matting adjacent to each governor.

- Two identical cards accompanying the invitation 1957.304.003a, to a Governor's Levee and Military Soiree held by the Detroit Light Guard on February 12, 1885. The cards are printed with the text: Cards of admission five dollars, admitting gentleman and lady, can be produced of the general committee, and lady, can be procured of the general committee and at the stores of M. L. Smith & Co., and L.L Farnsworth on presentation of this invitation.

- Set of 26 quickstep-sized sheets of sheet music for the Governor's March, as played by John Philip Sousa's band for Governor Hazen S. Pingree, composed by Ella Cleveland-Keiller, arranged by E.R. Schremser. Parts are included for cornet, drums, tuba, clarinet, alto, tenor, baritone, bassoon, oboe, piccolo, and trombone. "Compliments of Mrs. Ella Cleveland-Keiller, 25 East Columbia St., Detroit, Mich." is stamped on the verso of the solo B flat cornet sheet.

- Handwritten Letter to John J. Bagley from Thomas Nast, dated June 1st, 1885, regarding a portrait Nast did of Bagley: Morristown, N.J. June 1st, 1885 Mr. John H. Bagley Dear Sir, I sent with the etchings for you, a duplicate set for your mother. At least, I meant to, or have I made a mistake? Your letter which I have just received after an absence of two weeks, has reminded me, that I have not heard from hers, and so I write to ask. Yours very truly Th: Nast."

- Head-and-shoulder portrait lithograph of Lewis Cass, by J.C. Buttre and printed by Johnson, Fry, and Company of New York. Cass is depicted in a dark suit and tie looking to the right. The oval-shaped portrait is surrounded by a border composed of scrollwork and images of an eagle perched atop a book beneath a semi-circle of stars, and of two War of 1812-era officers on horseback leading marching soldiers. Lewis Cass' signature is printed at the bottom.

- Incumbent Michigan Governor G. Mennen "Soapy" Williams gives a campaign speech denouncing his Republican opponent, former Michigan Governor Harry Kelly, for running a dirty campaign. Williams argues that informed voters are crucial to a democracy and claims that Kelly has refused to articulate any platform and has spent his time calling Williams a communist and a socialist. Williams outlines his own positions, including decent treatment of elderly citizens, labor laws which are fair to employers and employees, an immediate road building program, and above all a "government which sees and meets the needs of all its people." He challenges Kelly to articulate what he stands for. Williams is introduced by Robert Scott, the Secretary/Treasurer for the Michigan Federation of Labor AFL, who also announces the AFL endorsement for Williams.
