- French and Russian prisoners made this statue of a suffering man with a drawn sword in memorial to their fallen comrades at Grafenwoehr. The memorial has a Latin inscription, "For the Fatherland," and was dedicated at the prison cemetery.

- French prisoners plant flowers in a small garden outside of their barracks in a wooded section of the prison camp at Grafenwoehr. Gardening provided a pastime for the prisoners and improved the appearance of the camp.

- French and Belgian prisoners unload packages from two wagons outside the parcel post office at Grafenwoehr. The prisoners retrieved the parcels from the railroad station in town. They work under the direction of a German NCO and a Landsturm sentry. Once inside the office, they will be inspected by German authorities for contraband before they are distributed. These packages greatly improved the diets of POW's as well as their morale.

- French and Belgian prisoners route letters to their comrades in the prison post office at Grafenwoehr under the supervision of a German non-commissioned officer. These letters have been approved by the German censors for distribution. Censors also worked as interpreters between prisoners, German officials, War Prisoners' Aid secretaries, and neutral visitors.

- French prisoners and German guards walk down a street between the barracks in the "French quarter" of the prison camp at Grafenwoehr. The barracks are clearly made out of bricks with a stucco coating. The city can be seen in the background of the photograph.

- A French prisoner plays his self-made cello in the theater at Grafenwoehr. Prisoners often exhibited their ingenuity and talents by making their own instruments or by utilizing other inmates with wood carving skills to construct needed musical equipment.

- Prisoners perform an outdoor concert and theatrical performance for sick and wounded prisoners in the courtyard of the hospital at Grafenwoehr. These performances helped lift the spirits of men recovering from illnesses or wounds.
