- The presence of Russian prisoners from Muensingen on German farms grew more common during the course of World War I. This drawing depicts a Russian POW with a horse involved in agricultural work.

- After crossing a railroad bridge from Serbia, the Austrians load these Serbian prisoners of war on to a ferry for transport to an Austro-Hungarian prison camp. In addition to the POW's, the ferry carries rails and wooden ties for railroad bed construction.

- This cartoon, drawn by a British internee at the prison camp at Ruhleben, describes the long awaited day of the end of the war and repatriation. Some of the internees will march out of camp under a banner, others will stack their belongings on a cart, while most prisoners will scramble to gather some of their belongings and escape the confines of the camp for the waiting trains. Note the YMCA hall in the background of the drawing.

- Another Raemacker cartoon shows German guards herding Belgian workers into a railroad car for transportation into Germany. The laborers wave farewell to their families and will soon be off to support the German war effort.

- A swarm of British civilians climb aboard a train with their belongings which will transport them from the prison camp at Ruhleben to the Dutch frontier. In the Netherlands, the former internees took a ferry home to England.

- French prisoners transport a shipment of parcels in the town square in Landshut in Bavaria. The town church is in the background of the photograph and the activity has caught the attention of a number of German civilians. The French war prisoners will pull the wagon full of parcels back to the prison camp.

- Serbian prisoners of war cross a railroad bridge over the Danube, leaving Serbia and entering Austria-Hungary, under Austrian guard. German soldiers at the lower right and on the bank of the river to the left watch the Serbians pass into Austrian captivity.

- French and Russian prisoners of war line up in the camp compound at Stargard in preparation for departure for labor details outside of camp. The German guard is organizing the POW's into Arbeitskommandos. Allied POW labor helped redress the loss of German workers mobilized for military service in World War I.
