Hull of Massachusetts appointed governor by President Jefferson. 1813-Lewis Cass appointed governor of Michigan Territory. 1835-Michigan adopted a State Constitution, and elected a group of state officials with Stevens T . Mason as Governor. 1837-Congress acknowledged Michigan to be a state in the Union.

Dear Mamma x Papa
Will drop you a line as I am waiting for my iron to heat, have a cake in the oven and my work done and iron this forenoon and go uptown with Hazel and get my paper for my front room and dinning room. Am going to have my dining room two colors and put drapes out here and get new ones for front room. We were over to Lewies last nite Wilbur helped . . . on Sis' car their place is nice. We go to Alden's picnic tomorrow. S.W.A.K. Next week is the last of . . . write. Love Bernice
