- Description:
- This is the earliest child's dress in the Henry Ford collection. While it seems logical that it would close in back, the sleeves are set in in such a way as to indicate a front closure like other short or long gowns. The fabric may well be British. From the Mitchell family of rural New York State.

- Description:
- This ring might be considered an interesting transitional mourning ring.Earlier mourning rings were generally set with sepia scenes under glass and set into the gold band.Later mourning and memorial rings, from the 1830s on, often included locks of hair and onyx, pearls or enamel; some were plaited entirely of human hair. This ring is plain and simple, not unlike other decorative accessories of this classical revival period, and does not include the earlier sepia scenes but is more akin to rings of later in the century.

- Description:
- Ice blue satin wedding gown, which according to the designer, was "inspired by the simplicity of ancient Grecian art." The gown has beaded decoration at the waist in an acanthus leaf pattern and a four-and-a-half yard scalloped train. Frances Dodge, for whom the gown was made, also wore a veil of ice blue illusion bound with blue satin held in place with a tiara of illusion decorated with seed pearls. According to Aubrey Eads, president and spokesperson for Peggy Hoyt in 1938, "The procession of bride and bridesmaids was the most wonderful wedding procession, the most exquisite in design, that we (Peggy Hoyt) have ever created." This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).
