- A tan leather and marbled paper-bound "Forget-Me-Not Album" presented to Mr. Wesley Emery, teacher at Lansing's First Ward (Cedar Street) School in December, 1861. The book has several engravings of classical portraits in between blank pages for signatures. Most pages are not used, but those that are were inscribed by the following former students to Mr. Emery: Louise Turner, 1863 Nelia S. Rankin 1873 Carrie M. Limebeck 1863 Nellie E. Washburn 1863 J. M. Barrett 1862 Helen Bigelow 1862 Elitha (no last name) 1862 Emma Young 1862 There is also one unsigned piece of poetry written in and dated 1874. Mr. Emery served as a teacher and school principal off and on in the early Lansing schools, in addition to running a book and stationery store with his son, and working as a traveling school book salesman throughout Michigan.

- Children seated at desks reading while a teacher watches. East Park School was built in 1916 to replace a two-room school on Lesher Place on the east side of what was then called East Park. The park's name changed to Oak Park in 1926, and the school name changed then to go along.

- Children seated at desks while a teacher watches. A Robertson's Drug Store, North Lansing calendar for January, 1926 is on the wall. There were 16 slides in a box labeled "Franklin-Larch." Nothing on the individual slides distinguishes which images were taken at which school. Franklin Avenue School was located at 1100 East Franklin Avenue (later Grand River Avenue). The Larch Street School was in the 100 block of North Larch Street.

The 1925-1926 Directory of Public Schools for Lansing notes: "The Part-Time Continuation School, a domestic science kitchen, a wood shop for elementary grades and an open-air school are also located in this building."
