- Typewritten letter, with envelope, signed Woolley and Chittenden, managers of the Hotel Pontchartrain to William D. Purdy, asking him to report for work on October 1, 1907, dated September 26, 1907. The letter is on Hotel Pontchartrain stationery, and the envelope is printed with the hotel's crest. The letter reads: Mr. W.D. Purdy, 1159 Third Avenue, Detroit Dear Sir:- Please report for work on October 1st. Kindly acknowledge receipt of this. Yours very truly, The Pontchartrain Hotel Company Woolley & Chittenden Managers. GHW/GEC

- Menu booklet from the Fifteenth Annual Banquet of the Iota Chapter of Gamma Delta Psi held at the Hotel Pontchartrain on December 26, 1908. The menu consists of a half-folded sheet of paper bound inside of a grey cardstock cover with grey ribbon. The Gamma Delta Psi logo is printed on the cover in burgundy. The menu and a list of toasts are contained within.

- Postcard. Illustration of Cadillac Square. Front reads, "Cadillac Square, looking East from City Hall, Detroit, Mich." Back reads, "Cadillac Square, Detroit, Mich. Cadillac Square runs east from Campus Martius to County Building and was named after the founder of Detroit. Antoine de Laumet De La Mothe Cadillac. Cadillac Chair is located on the west, which was formerly the site of the Old City Hall, built in 1836 and occupied until 1871 as the seat of Civic Authority. Cadillac arrived in Detroit July 24, 1701. On that day, under patronage the of Louis XIV, the City of Detroit, then called for Pontchartrain was founded..." The card was mailed and the postmark on back reads, "Detroit, Nov. 30, 2:30 pm, 1914, Mich." The one sign that can be read reads, "Turkish Trophies."

The headline at top reads "Michigan's Ideal Metropolis, Beautiful Detroit," underneath which are portraits of six of "Some of the Prominent Business Citizens of Detroit" with captions indicating their businesses, from left to right as follows: George Harrison Barbour ("First vice-president and general manager of the Michigan Stove Co.), Homer Warren (Postmaster of Detroit), William B. Woodbury (General manager Home Telephone Co. of Detroit), Henry Ford (President Ford Motor Co., pioneer automobile designer and manufacturer), William V. Moore (One of Detroit's leading attorneys), and Benjamin Siegel (President of the Siegel Co., of Detroit). The accompanying article about Detroit and its businesses features insets with depictions of the following buildings: The Ford Building, New Hotel Pontchartrain, The Majestic Building, The Union Trust Building, Building of the Whitney Realty Company, the Penobscot Building, and the People's State Bank.

Two men are visible in the foreground crossing the avenue over the street car tracks in opposing directions; many pedestrians are also visible on the neighboring sidewalk. Automobiles are parked adjacent to the commercial buildings on the thoroughfare; and a street car is also visible. Commercial buildings and businesses are adjacent to Woodward including Hotel Oxford, Ben-Hur Cigars, Princess Theatre, and Dickerson and Company. One storefront is missing its facade. The backside of the Hotel Pontchartrain is visible in the background.

The verso declares that the hotel is a member of the United States Food Administration, and urges the conservation of food for the war effort. Additionally, a disclaimer on the verso cautions that the management declines responsibility to damage to clothing caused by accidents in the dining room.
