Printed on verso: West Grand Circus Park. The oldest of Detroit's breathing grounds, situated almost in the center of the city's retail district, is Grand Circus park. Magnificent shade trees are everywhere, real monarchs of the forest that started to grow before ever a white man set his foot on what is now the State of Michigan. This park was set aside in 1854 under the general re-districting of the city. The building in the background is the Hotel Tuller. Mr. T.C. O'Donnell will call about "June 10"; Murphy Chair Co. - Color postcard depicting the Hurlbut Memorial Gate at Water Works Park, with people in front and the pumping station and floral clock in the background. Printed on verso: Hurlbut Memorial. The 72-acre plot of ground on Jefferson Avenue, owned by the city and partially occupied by its water works pumping station, has been made one of Detroit's beauty spots. The water supply is pumped through a long tunnel from the intake pipe in Lake St. Clair to the distributing point. The park is remarkable for its big floral clock and the memorial at the entrance, in honor of the late Chauncey Hurlbut, for many years one of the city's water commissioners and president of the board. - Color postcard depicting people in a wooded playground in Palmer Park, with various equipment in view. Printed on verso: The Children's Playground at Palmer Park is built on land donated to the City by Ex-Senator Thomas W. Palmer, in 1893, and is situated north of the city at the extreme terminal of the Woodward Ave. car line; is one of the city's favorite breathing spots. Its center piece is a log cabin, which is an exact reproduction of the home in which Senator Palmer resided when Detroit was little more than a trading post.
