- The W. T. Grant department store is on the corner facing North Washington Avenue. The remainder of the block is occupied by the Lansing City Hall (identified as "Old" in the 1959 City Directory because a newer city hall was under construction). - A Chevrolet is prominent in the photo. From right to left, S. S. Kresge department store at 114, Harryman Shoes at 118. Tom Green Shoes at 120, and Cunningham Drugstore at 122 South Washington Avenue are in the Hollister building. Knapp's department store can be seen at 300 South Washington Avenue.
