Wool Coat with Metallic Accent, Lined in Red Crepe, 1924

Description:: Coat of black wool lined in red crepe. Trim on coat consists of edging of gold metallic braid and gilded leather. The side closure is accented with leather fringe terminating from button. Accent includes black wool with raised stitiching on gored skirt, sleeves and body of coat. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.
