A horse-driven mail truck in front of H.L. Wood & Son Hardware. This photograph was taken on the east side of Main Street between Third and Fourth Streets. The lettering on the cab reads "U.S. Mail R.F.D.", which stands for Rural Free Delivery. The Rural Free Delivery service began in 1896. (P-332) [date is approximate] Photograph Collection
