Description:
From a group of more than 80 letters, telegrams, and other materials from or concerning the International Association of Chiefs of Police and Alfred Seymour's involvement, this is 85 pages of correspondence dating from 1932 to 1940. Seymour was a charter member of the organization and served as its president for a time. While active in the I. A. C. P., he worked to support the appointment of J. Edgar Hoover as Director of the new Federal Bureau of Investigation. Several letters between Hoover and Seymour are part of this correspondence.
