John Brown exhibiting his hangman!.

- John Brown, at left, rises from his grave and points an accusing finger at Jefferson Davis, who sits imprisoned in a birdcage hanging from a gallows. Davis wears a dress and bonnet and holds a sour apple. Below the hanging cage, African American men and women, resembling comic minstrel figures, celebrate.; "Entered according to act of Congress in 1865 by G. Querner in the clerk's office of the Sup. Court, D.C."
