Fulton Street Old Iron Bridge

Notes:
Original iron bridge, built about 1882. This photo was taken just before the bridge was torn down to be replaced by the Dean bridge. Most of the bridge is intact, but there is a pile of rubble in the foreground. A sign at the top of the entrance to the bridge reads “Massillon Bridge Company, Massillon, Ohio”, with a hanging sign underneath which reads “Public Notice – Warning – This bridge unsafe for any load over 6 tons”. Commercial buildings visible on the west side of the river include Van Leeuwen D-?, Federal Motor Trucks, Worden Grocer Company.
