Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired)

Notes:
Pinkish-buff clay; unglazed. Heart-shaped nozzle, end broken. Raised vine design, grapes and leaves on rim. Circular band set off by grooves between rim and discus. On discus, small pillar to left on which is ribbed cone-shaped object. On right is standing figure facing pillar, head and beak of bird, claw stretched toward altar, snake (?) about body, between figure and between two, probably blots out part of design. Ring handle, two grooves on upper half. Base ring set off by grooves. Double stamped circle above and below. Blackened about wick hole. Incised stamp “L. Cae (cilii) Sae (cularis)”.
