Octagon House, Lansing

Description:

Photograph of Octagon House on South Washington Avenue at Kalamazoo, at the southeast corner, Lansing. Built in the 1850s by Col. Whitney Jones, State Auditor General for two terms, 1855-1858. When Mr. Arbaugh acquired it in 1902, he moved the house to the rear of the property behind his department store and used it as a warehouse until it was razed in 1935.
